The Tempe Public Library Sprouts programs includes instruction and labs that incorporate tutoring, learning, and interactive play. Sprouts is a free and fun way to help children develop their literacy, reading, and math skills.

Family Sprouts

For students Kindergarten through 3rd Grade and their favorite grown up. Visit the Learning Lab to checkout and engage using the Literacy Kits packed with a variety of activities which focus on key reading skills. Most kits include phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension activities.

Math Sprouts: Open Lab

For students Kindergarten through 3rd grade and their favorite grown-up. Visit the Learning Lab to engage in math activities which focus on key math skills.

5:00 - 6:00 p.m., Tuesdays, Sep. 10 through Nov. 19.

No class on Oct. 8.

No registration required.

Reading Sprouts

For 1st graders below grade level in reading. Students receive targeted instruction aligned to state standards to help them gain key reading skills. Students practice this through word work, reading aloud and literacy games.

4:15 - 5:00 p.m., Mondays & Wednesdays, Sep. 9 through Dec. 4.

No class on Oct. 7, Oct. 9, Nov. 11, Nov. 27.

Students are screened to assess their eligibility. Call 480-350-5512 to schedule a registration session.
