1:30 p.m. - Costume Contests: Signup from 10:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. by the Museum entrance, line-up begins at 1:00 p.m.

Activities:

10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Superhero Academy (0-18 years) in the North Parking Lot: Design your superhero persona and pass the training stations to become a certified Superhero!

10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Board Game Room (All ages) in the Desert Willow Program Room: Enjoy a variety of board games for all ages!

11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Pokemon TCG Tournament (6-16 years) in the Museum Community Room: This event will use the Swiss rounds format, which means everyone gets to play multiple games, and you'll be paired with opponents who have a similar win/loss record throughout the event.

3:00 p.m. - Event Closes

Costume Contests Rules

• To enter the costume contest, please register at the Costume Contest Booth the day of Tempe FanCon. You must be registered to enter the contest.
• You may only register once under the four categories: Youth (0-12), Teen (13-18), Adult (18+), or Group
• All costumes must be safe and appropriate for all audiences (Please see the Costume Guidelines for more info on costume requirements).
• The contest begins at 1:30 p.m., lineup will begin at 1:15 p.m. west of the stage.
• Contestants who are not in line by 1:15 p.m. may be disqualified.
• Winners must provide valid email address to receive prizes.

Costume Guidelines

• If you are wearing a large costume or prop, please be aware of other attendees, especially young children.
• Please note that the use of confetti or glitter is not permitted at the event.
• Do not swing weapons and be mindful of them when moving about the event or posing for photos.
• Loud noise-making props should be minimized to avoid disruption to the event and attendees.
• All props brought into Tempe FanCon must follow all federal, state, and local laws.
• Wooden props such as staffs or wooden swords are permitted.
• Any prop constructed of live steel (sharp edged) is not permitted, including swords, knives and axes and other weapons.
  • If an item is constructed of metal without an edge, it must be approved by a Tempe Public Library staff member prior to admittance into the event.
• Any sort of live martial arts weapon is not permitted into the event.
• No firearms and/or projectile weapons of any kind are permitted.
  • This includes but is not limited to airsoft guns, BB guns, real firearms or working replicas
  • The exception is as follows: Toy plastic guns with non-removable orange tips and no moving parts are permitted
