The Library Made Me Do It: How A Small-Town Library Inspired A Novel
After best-selling author Sue Halpern (A Dog Walks into A Nursing Home) moved to a remote, economically distressed hamlet in the Adirondack Mountains that had no public library, she was asked to help start one. That Field of Dreams story of neighbors coming together to change the destiny of their town, put her on the path, years later, to write Summer Hours in The Robbers Library, a novel about friendships that become family and the power of books and libraries to heal and make us whole.
